Privacy policy
What we collect, who handles it, and the choices you have. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
The short version
Financial Interstate is a small publication. We collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and the calculators run entirely in your browser without sending your inputs anywhere.
Newsletter signups
When you subscribe, your email address is collected and managed by our newsletter provider, Beehiiv, at newsletter.financialinterstate.com. Beehiiv stores your address and basic engagement data (such as whether an email was opened) so we can send and improve the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Beehiiv's own privacy policy governs that data.
Calculators
The calculators on this site are fully client-side. The numbers you type are processed in your browser to show a result and are not transmitted to us or stored on a server.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful — for example, page views and general traffic sources. Where used, this is intended to be limited and not to identify you personally.
Embeds and third parties
Some pages may include embedded content or signup forms from third parties such as Beehiiv, and we load web fonts from Google Fonts. These providers may receive basic technical information (like your IP address and browser) needed to deliver that content, governed by their own privacy policies.
Cookies
The core site aims to use few or no cookies. Third-party embeds, analytics, or future affiliate links may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Affiliate links
If affiliate links are added in the future, clicking one may allow that merchant to set a cookie to attribute a referral. This is disclosed on our disclaimer page.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, block cookies in your browser, and use browser privacy tools. If you'd like to ask about the data associated with your subscription, reach out via the about page.

As the site grows and tools are added, this policy may be updated. Material changes will be reflected here.
